What happens in this course?

In the Oral Bible Translation School you will learn to serve mother tongue translators and facilitate an oral translation of the Bible into a Bible-less language.

You will learn through stories the principles and approach to oral Bible Translation. As you gain this experience you will also witness the Word of God becoming accessible to people groups for the very first time in history.

Training Phase (3 months)

Learn and practice the skills needed for oral Bible Translation to give you the confidence to fulfill God's call on your life.

Discover and be trained in the approach of Oral Bible Translation. Learn to prepare yourself and the community, build an intercultural team that works through friendship, produce and check translation drafts, and help people engage with God’s word.

Join an ongoing project in the nations and apply the approach you've learned.

Be immersed in an oral culture and learn the oral lifestyle. Build friendships with mother tongue translators, and serve them in the process of translating the Bible into their language. Provide input for the context of Bible passages. Facilitate and guide conversations to move the oral Bible translation process forward.
